Hercules: Luke, dude. I am happy I have the chance to interview you. Are you looking forward to the Millennium? Luke Drelick: Aaah, well it's my honor. I'm looking forward to the Millenium. Friends of mine are gonna fly from all over the US to a huge rave I'm throwing in the local woods.
Luke Drelick: UK pirate radio. And the women... Someone told me that if you like House you get the women. And so far that has proved to be pretty true. Hercules: Ahh. Funky! I really *love* the kickin' beats of house music. My favorite sorts are 2step, gabber and trance. What are your favorite sorts of house music? Luke Drelick: 2-step garage definitely. man, I remember when I was in the Heathrow area of London, I got this one pirate station... they were playing this kind of music, I couldn't tell if it was more speedgarage or more r&b... I listened to it but it was amazing... I was calling it "real fucked up speed garage" at the time but later I found otu that it was called "2-step garage" and it was the cutting edge sound of the UK. Hercules: So how many girls did you get so far? Luke Drelick: Define "get". Hercules: Well, you said when you listen to house music, you get the chicks. Luke Drelick: Oh, well what do you mean by "get" them.
Hercules: Ahh. Cool. I've recently been invited by a Dutch gabber DJ to come to a huge gabber party. The atmosphere on house parties is usually really kickin'. Do you remember when you first got drunk in your life? Luke Drelick: No I don't really drink much surprisingly. I go to parties for the music. Too many people go to them for all the wrong things. To get drunk, to get high, to trip, etc. I go for the atmosphere and the most important element: the music. Anyways guess my fave remix of Monica. Hercules: Ahh. You're a true music-lover indeed. So am I. To feel da beat. Did Robbie Craig do that remix? Luke Drelick: Nope, Razor -n- Guido. Hercules: How big is the house scene in the US? Luke Drelick: It's more underground, less commercial than UK. It depends where you go. Eastcoast it's very hard, you got the whole NYHC movement, R-N-G, Vasquez, Johnny Vicious, etc... Westcoast is more breakbeaty, you got Sasha in San Fran of course and other groups in that area. Deephouse and US Garage (Maw, Armand, etc) are less prevalent and trance is slowly making inroads in the US. Apparently the Jaxx are quite big over here. Hercules: Ooh. Interesting. Do you have a lot of house clubs in the States, like they have here in Europe (mainly, UK, The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany)? Luke Drelick: Ya, lots of teenybopper clubs, my friend has residence in Twilo tho (huge club in NYC, Vasquez has residence there on sat. nights for the fags and Sasha&Digweed spin their the last Friday every month). Of course there's the tunnel with Tenaglia.
Hercules: Yeah. They are currently doing a tour through Europe. Unfortunately I can't go and see them. How do you like gabber music (that has its origin in The Netherlands)? Luke Drelick: Well my friend tim got this CD 'Digital Sex Hardcore', and it was all gabber... we listened to it when we play smash, it was like the hardest fucking shit man!!! It's got this one song that's jsut like "fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fucking faggots!!!", and it's got the super insane death fist song and the "a lotta guys like my legs... do you like my legs" "aaaaahhh I liiiike loooong legs". It was like insane!
Hercules: Yeah, DJ Delirium and Lenny Dee come from the US, as do some others. The scene here in Holland is big. Well, it used to be much bigger, but it's still big. Luke Drelick: Ya, that's cool. Look man I gotta take a shower cause I just got back from like a 10 hour busride and I gotta go to my friends house and prepare for Twilo this fri. So it was a pleasure doin the interview. Hope to hear from you soon. Hercules: Indeed. See ya around, brother! Luke Drelick: And remember: BULLS ARE NUMBER 1 IN DIV-1A!!!!! Hercules: Yes! Luke Drelick: Bye!
