Message from the Management

When you finish a new game, demo, engine, or utility, the first thing to do is submit it to the archive for approval. (Log in first, then Upload a New Game from the sidebar.) Then feel free to post about it in this forum; in fact, please continue to do this. This is so people will actually know about your game and play it. As nice as it is to have archive uploads automated, it's not going to help much if no one knows you have a new game to play.

When uploading your games to the archive, please zip up your game using the .ZIP format, even if it is just a .MZX file. As for less popular formats (such as RAR and 7Z), games uploaded in these formats will be rejected. This is because as wonderful as those compression algorithms might be, ZIP is a near universal compression standard, and the only one that will work with the in-game archive browser planned for MZX.

You can also attach your game to a new thread in this forum. In this case, you can use whatever compression format you find suitable. NOTE: Games posted this way won't be put into the archive unless submitted to the archive proper, or unless the author states he/she wants the game in.

Lastly, we suggest you post a suitable screenshot of your submission (in PNG format) along with the game.

Yeah! Play this game. It is great, and you will be glad you did.

BAND! 4 is a continuation of the popular BAND! series! And, like every BAND!, it features a special and yet confusing naming convention pattern!

There is no offense intended to any member of the MZX community. Also, don't complain, because I put you in the credits -WINK-.

IF THIS GAME IS TOO HARD FOR YOU, CONSIDER READING THE FOLLOWING:
  • When in doubt, forget about coins, go for the KITS.
  • Buy a jetpack and spend all your coins on upgrades until about 100 max heat.
  • Run to temperature stabilizers, THEN get coins.
  • Dr. Guy is a big help! Spend coins on him!
  • USE F9 AND F10 GENEROUSLY.
  • Never forget about the jetpack and checkpoints!
So now that you've milked the ostrich and washed your posregionagap, it's time to play this mug! This game has been extensively tested and play-balanced by the #POOPROAD>:( crew, but please report any bugs or problems you will find.

Uh-oh, doesn't work in the last alpha copy of MZX I have :< (obviously not your fault!)

Works just fine in 2.80c, though running into invisible things is not fun. You should have made it to where random generation of objects doesn't generate a solid and invisible object.

The invisible object problem is fixed, along with a fatal bug that gameovers you when you enter level 5.

It's pretty damn fantastic, CJA. Some of the level design is a little sketchy, and the jumper is kind of tough, but man, nice use of the programming skills.

Neat game cja!!! I liked the smzx text.
I finished it and got the speshal level and then the geme reseted, and now
I can't play it anymore. Why?

It's supposed to write to an mzm so that when you restart it knows that you can play with cool stuff after beating Special Level. I don't know why it won't let you restart :d

I intentionally stole the music from City Limits for effect!

Also, if you downloaded before June 15, you might have to redownload. The final version that's up now is working perfect for me.

It creates a file "band3mzm.mzm" and the global robot checks that at game start. If it's there, it will set all your game stats to really high things. Also, if you get all the coins in that mode you will have mastered BAND 3. I don't expect you to try this though -_-

The one person i hated in that game was that "Syrup Dude" Man, whoever you were cameoing there, the dude must be a DORK! Cause' holy frick, cohorts are fags! Good game though, I laughed like heck. (even if I wasn't in it.)

Final score: 10463, first try. :>

And shucks, the special level wasn't that hard. It was fun, though.

Very nice work on all of the engines and stuff.
