Zombie, by negative values he means (I assume) how if you wanted to use a key above.. uhh, 127 I think, anyway, if you wanted to use a key above a certain number in dos MZX, you would have to use a negative number because the value is "Signed", which allows for negative numbers in the normally only positive environment of computing. He does NOT however, mean "if not", that is not a negative value, and "if not spacepressed" doesn't even relate at all to what you keep pasting.
I wasn't sure... but seeing something in port.txt to do with keypresses had me blame my problem on it.
This code doesn't work, it shoots three bullets then stops. :(
: "a"
if not spacepressed "a"
shoot EAST
wait 2
goto "a"
Edit: Crap, didn't really mean to triple post, sorry.

+ Readded F8 clear (always works - be careful)
ZoMbIe, that code works fine for me.
As for the weird chars.. that's because you're using an escape char. Funny things happen in DOS MZX too. I'll probably just disable those.

Oddly enough, after I quit out of MegaZeux I get the same error when I try to start NTVDM in any way (either through cmd.exe or by trying to run a DOS application). Everything works fine when I restart my system, though.
I haven't had a chance to play with MZX:Win too much (I played part-way through P.D.S. and loaded an IT in the editor) so that's all I have for now.
For the record, here's some info about my system:
-P4 2.0GHz on an Asus P4P8X mobo
-512MB RAM
-nVidia GeForce3 64MB with the latest drivers
-Windows XP w/SP1
The following programs were running in the background (not sure if there might be any compatibility issues with any of them):
-McAfee Anti-virus 7.1
-WindowBlinds 4.3
-DesktopX 2
-Stardock Central
-Keyboard Launchpad
-Mozilla Quicklaunch
-nVidia Icon Thingie

ZoMbIeGuY; I was able to reproduce the problem you were talking about now. Autorepeat was breaking it. I fixed this earlier for the directions, but forgot about space and del. It does NOT specifically have to do with the not part of the command.
+ Fixed autorepeat problems for spacepressed/delpressed.

I did find a fix for that and no, the problem wasn't related to MegaZeux.
I finally got a chance to play with it a little bit. The problem was with WindowBlinds. It will only affect the registered version of WindowBlinds, more specifically, the ability to skin command prompt windows (the fact that NTVDM seemed to be involved gave me that idea). So, for those who use the registered version of WindowBlinds: make sure command prompt skinning is off (might want to throw that into the docs, Exo; I'm sure it's not just my system).

Probably not worth mentioning, since the console is just a beta thing.

The current build is capable of producing boards that could fail to load properly, ever. You can probably fix them by resaving in the next build, but just the same, it's best to backup everything and avoid doing a lot of work in the editor right now.
I hope to release again tomorrow.

That being said I thought I'd also drop in my congratulations yet again to Exo for getting this huge honking program out, and to say what a joy it is that I can finally see SMZX games right. Whenever it becomes stable I plan to transfer whatever game I'm working on to it...

Also, using the mouse's scrolling wheel in a text box makes the box close. Maybe that's not a bug, but still...
Oh... just found another one... I made a robot with this code:
: "loop"
put cFF fake p00 west player
goto "loop"
Then I moved the player to the east of the robot. The robot should have been replaced with a fake, but instead, it crashed.

+ Fixed bug where MZX would crash if put dir player overwrote the robot
doing it
This is probably not that clear, but the current subtle bug in the build you're all using CAN cause seemingly unrelated things to cause MZX to crash.

CIRCUMSTANCE: I went to the bottom of my robot, marked the end of a block, then tried to mark the beginning. I had to go back down and mark the end again, then hit Alt+B for the block action and selected Clear Block. MZX closed itself.
Serious damage to important body parts pretty much ruins any plans you had for living. Bummer.

Edit: Also, when you're selecting a starting/death/endgame board, the title screen shows up in the list as "(none)". I'm not sure if that causes any problems.
Edit 2: On a small board (use something like a board height of 5) edit the global robot. When you exit the editor (or the robot name dialog) the robot name dialog will stay on the screen.

Also, in Snarfoogle, the game tends to randomly trasport the player to the title screen, usually around a Restore Player Position.

But then I won't be listening to any music. :(
It continues from editor to test-game, why not the other way around? If that's not going to happen, then someone please tell me what's so special about having the music continue when entering test-game, opposed to it restarting from test-game to the editor.
