Looking at the PUT command, I was looking for what part of the help file has the list of THINGS...as it says to use the command:
PUT [color] [thing] [parameter] [x] [y]
Well, as one form of the PUT command anyway. In the robotic editor, we have keys for character, color and parameter, but not...thing?
So where is the full list of things? I found a few just trying them out, but I suspect some have odd spellings or abbreviations I'll never figure out.
Thanks for any reference that I missed.
(I did try searching the forum, 'list' kept popping up 'listen' and other false positives, and 'things'...well, even more false positives)

Hi,
I don't think there's a full list of things in the help file. The closest equivalent is the ID chars/CHANGE CHAR ID table in the Robotic Reference Manual. Usually you can just take a thing name from that table and remove the spaces to get the Robotic equivalent.
edit: the thing menus in the editor also work for this and are a little more convenient from inside of the editor. I will prod Terryn about this.

Just to be clear on the problem I was encountering was to put a player bullet going the direction I wanted it to be going. As I was browsing the internal help docs (i.e. inside mzx), I saw things like PlayerBullet, PLayershot, etc. and other similar references, so I was trying to put those things even though they were counters and such. I finally found bullet and the parameters select direction and what kind, but it was a fair minute. I think a 'directory of things and their paramaters might be useful for people using the more vanilla functions.

EDIT: One of the things that threw me off was indeed the list of built ins and their reference number that also appears in the EDIT CHAR menu. I think like..'intuitively' (cause it's what I tried), the THING would just be that reference number. I.e. N PLayer Bullet number is 306 but this does not select the thing in the program editor. Maybe that's the real solution? In this case, 306 would turn into Bullet p00?
