<@Tixus> Anyway, I set the year to 1988 for some reason.
<@Tixus> And set the microwave to run for a minute and 28 seconds.
<@Tixus> But it failed to send me back in time, and I was disappointed.
<Insidious> Tixus accidentally microwaved the 80s
<Insidious> that is my takeaway from this

If you want to beat the game Asgromo and I made, "Booty Tycoon," (97212) you'll have to go to the board "map" and edit the robot at (44,9) and add the following line immediately following the "interestingbattle" label:
set "interestingbattle" 1

also while you're on the map, you'll probably want to edit the robot at (29,13) and change
if "(('shipx'=16)a('shipy'=12))" = 1 then "movehere"
to
if "(('shipx'=26)a('shipy'=12))" = 1 then "movehere"

Something's up with 9.mzx in folder "9". It keeps breaking MegaZeux. For me it is.

If you do, koji, I'll learn mzx and be on your team. considering that this year's themes were death and pirates, i think we can predict next year's topics to be taxes and sodomy. we'll do a sodomy game :( (reasons for each: death and taxes are the two unavoidable things, and pirate ships are guys only. sodomy was everywhere.)

As a note, I am serious about competing with you against the other DoZers next year if you're able to make it. Just in case my word isn't serious enough for you!

You've made judging a bitch though, cause I didn't read your damn txt file before I played it and I had to reboot. THANKS.

On the plus side I just have to do 1 more and my results will be in! Because I like fast results too!

Yes I have done them properly.

RoSS: There is no robot at 44,0 in map.

Anyway, Skylark's results are in.

KK and I both agreed, that was the best DoZ we've done yet. When's the next one?

Also, I was thinking we ought to come up with extra awards. I.e.

"Most Productive Game"
"Most Playable Game"
"Best Coded Game"
"Best Storyline"

in addition to the ranked ratings we have now.

Whoops. Fixed. That's what I get for trying to do things after being up for a day-and-a-half. =P

Anyway, I plan on writing as much as I can for each game, but I'm starting now so it shouldn't take me 4eva.

THIS, guys, is why bittorrent is soooooo much better than direct download. Anyone who ever posts anything like 'Aww, why bittorrent? :(' again is now officially AN IDIOT.

I agree; much as it was nice to download these games directly a lot faster than it was on my old dailup connection, it would have been much faster to torrent and I could be seeding right now :(

The thing that I think most people don't understand about BitTorrent is that you have to have your client configured properly (in order to bypass ISP-related rate caps on common P2P ports -- not that hard to do) and you have to get torrents that are healthy. Finally, (this seems to be the thing that most people have problems understanding) to keep a torrent healthy you have to actively seed it.

It's pretty obvious that you're not going to get speeds much faster than an IM client file transfer if there's only one seed and no peers. On well-seeded torrents, however, I've been able to download gigabytes of information in mere hours, something that would be difficult, if not impossible, for a direct download to top.

garion is having some huge problems dealing with the bandwidth load being placed on it. I would definitely support someone starting a torrent.

Actually, this slowdown is amazing me. As people who downloaded it when I first put it up can attest to, garion is on a pretty damned fast pipe. I can't for a second believe that people downloading DoZes could be the only reason this is slowing down like this.

Apparently LYLIX.net is having some connectivity problems that were "solved" yesterday. I just sent them an email to the effect that they aren't solved for me.

Please, be patient with me. I'm sorry about all this >.<

Actually, if someone with belsambar space and the tar file could upload it there, that would be great. Belsambar's bandwidth is as heartily speedy as normal, and it should do as well (or perhaps better than) a torrent. I mean, I get a one terabyte a month bandwidth allotment there, that should be enough.

(Note, hosting the DoZ tarball would of course make your bandwidth allotment from me for the month 1TB as well, instead of 30GB, seeing as you're providing me with a service.)

Dylan

Yes, it appears the problem still persists. Our datacenter provider has
told us it is a faulty node, causing data loss of up to 10%. We are
pressuring them to resolve this as quickly as possible. Understand this
is in no way typical behavior nor to be expected in the future.

Regards
Eric
