It's not clear how, if at all, this should be fixed. This is partially masked by ANOTHER bug that needs a compatibility check, so no fix until 2.94.

The fix for this will be in this pull request whenever it gets implemented. Expected version is 2.94 due to the complexity of the fix and low priority of compatibility.
