This is a fairly longstanding thing and I don't know what relies on it/comes to expect it; this is as old as subroutines themselves. The robot stack doesn't store the internal line position, causing it to start commands that use it over from the beginning when the robot recieves and returns from a subroutine that was sent to it externally. See this thread, which documents the differences between WAIT 1 and CYCLE 1 (albeit in sort of awkward terminology as I wasn't quite familiar with the inner workings at that point).

Basically, the fix here would be to make the robot stack store both the line position and the internal position.

Affected commands:
wait #
go DIR #
/ "nsewi"
try DIR [else "label"] (for some reason I'm not aware of)

Fixed in GIT 4c3f375 and version locked to 2.85+. Should probably be tested a bit more.
