A function that outputs -1, 0, or 1 depending on whether x is negative, zero, or positive, respectively.

The use case would essentially be to replace slightly messier or less intuitive alternate forms of the sign function, like "('x'/'abs('x')')", with "sgn('x')". I expect this to be pretty low priority, but it's something I'd definitely make use of.

I'm not sure this is justified just yet. The alternative ('x'/'abs&x&') is not much more expensive and doesn't add extra counters to the list.

I'm going to say this is fine for future versions when we have actual functions or at least compiled expression handling for function counters, but right now it's not necessary.
