Found this in the 10-10-2010 debytcode build.

set counter
(3
+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2
)

This should cause a message box to pop up.

The neat thing is that counter is still set to the correct value.

Edit: I guess this happens to more than just expressions.

<Nadir> mzxers don't make GAMES, usually
<phthalocyanine> they make experiences.
<Nadir> demos, more like
<Nadir> a glimpse into what could have been if mzx wasn't such a bore to work with
<Nadir> actually, i'm being unfair
<Nadir> i would have made mzx games if it was capable of running on more than 20 computers worldwide in 1998
<Nadir> >:D

<%Alice> functor
<%nooodl> i hear C++ has a thing called functors and they're completely different from Haskell functors...
<rorirover> the result is the most horrid thing in C++, it's basically black magic and it transforms any code you're writing into some eldritch monstrosity

Tried the first one. Nothing odd happened in the editor, but when I tested the code, an input box with the text "nter" immediately popped up. When I pressed enter to make it go away, MZX froze, and I had to kill -9 it. Xubuntu 10.4 here, don't remember which debytecode (I think it's the 2010-12-11 build).

There's going to be a lot of places that need fixing to support arbitrarily long robotic commands. Even ignoring the old bytecode limitations (maximum 256 byte commands) there are fixed-size arrays all over MZX that can now overflow and will need to be fixed.

I'll try to figure out what's getting corrupted and abort compilation of commands that exceed this length. It'll have to be a future item to support arbitrarily long commands.
