This version's still helpful for bug-testing the port and for playing older MegaZeux games on old DOS computers. Other than that, no. The port found good stability around 2.80d and has improved since; besides, there are so many compatibility improvements, editing tricks and designing tricks added to the port that using this version for gaming (or forbid, game design) is counter-intuitive. Not to mention that you won't be able to play new games in it.

Newer in this case _is_ better.
