Beyond Reality: The Future Project is an early Megazeux game by Spelweavre. It's one of those things that was neat back in 1997 but didn't age well.

The first few areas of the game have you completing objectives in an assault vehicle. It's basic, but works well enough. I think this part of the game was inspired by Traffic Department 2192.

But then the game becomes a nightmarish sequence of bugged, poorly designed and confusing minigames. Like the one where you have to press the "X" key to not get a game over. That wasn't explained anywhere I can remember. Also the one that starts you on a speeder run that will throw you into a wall in under a second if you're playing on speed 4. Then the single board sidescroller where most of the challenge comes from not getting killed by the jump controls.

Oh, and the pseudo-3D tunnel where it appears you're stuck forever until you figure out you're supposed to press the delete key against the wall. The character set's missing for that, just noting on the off chance that anyone might have it.

There's no music and the graphics are what you'd expect of a 1997 Megazeux game, but there are some nice little cutscenes at least.

It's still a bit neat if only because the theme's a bit different from the usual Megazeux game. But it's pretty frustrating to play toward the end. And it's incomplete. The final board is blank.

It was a pretty ambitious game, but just didn't work out...
