Gumballz (Project Dump)
A very long time ago, as a new MegaZeux user, I wanted to create a huge multi-world game that crossed genres. Scope creep exceeding one's grasp was one of those lessons one can only learn first-hand, and naturally the game was never completed. It was first called 'Me & My Gumballz,' but became simply 'Gumballz' later. I received some outside help by friends in the friend group Xero Gravity (later Pinnacle Entertainment) and elsewhere, though the vast majority of the work is mine.
Starring an awful sociopathic comedy protagonist, Buddy, and a best friend he was particularly not nice to, Roy, it was a quest for Buddy to be a bad guy and obtain a foreign superweapon while also demanding laxatives for whatever reason. There were also references to friends at the time I met on AOL in the mid-late 90's. The humor was very much 90's teenage edgelord stuff, with a few situations, names, and jokes that weren't as controversial as they would be now in 2025.
Many different worlds from different states of development - as the whole thing was an undisciplined mess of sprawling scope of 'this might be cool' iedas - have been included in this project dump, with finer details in the archive's included text file (!Gumballz_ProjectDump.txt).
Gumball.mzx is technically completed, beyond it being impossibly difficult and nonsensical with built-in elements (along with obnoxious trial and error). The rest do not fare any better, and are all incomplete.
A lot of this material wasn't even intended for direct release in its current form, and has placeholder music and the like from other games (Smiley RPG, Cans 2, probably others). For this first project dump release, I've decided to let that be to keep it authentic (save for an alteration to one world's intro board to remove real life names).
