Oh wow, a newbie game in 2014! I can't rate it highly, but I'm very happy to see it.

It's one of those games where you have a combination of the built-in combat and a very crude, ZZT-style JRPG combat system that doesn't work after the first battle.

It's easily completed, but there's a few minor bugs aside from the battle system. The author would benefit greatly from learning about LOCKSELF / UNLOCKSELF commands. Also, with passages from one board linked to another, the player will end up on on the passage that's the same color as the previous board's passage, regardless whether it links back or somewhere else.

The graphics are very basic (ASCII character set) and the music is all stuff that's been used in many other Megazeux games. It's... kind of refreshing to see in 2014, actually, where most people using Megazeux have been using it for years.

I look forward to Random Quest II!

One of the many atrocities I created back in my newbie MZX years. Everything about this game is AWFUL, there are little to no redeeming qualities at all. The only decent thing about this game is the choice of music (Which were a bunch of MODs I had on my computer at the time). At quite a few points I WAS working on the sequel to this game and I MIGHT start work on it again if I'm motivated enough, but I'm working on another project right now. The sequel to this game had quite the troubled development, it always stayed unfinished due to hard drive crashes and formats, and lack of motivation. This game was also rushed in development which is another reason there are a LOT of oversights, like doors leading to the wrong path, the battle engine never resting from the last state it was in, and the final boss only taking ONE hit to defeat due to horrendous programming. I will do a re-release of this game soon with many bugfixes and proper directory structure so this game can be played in its intended form. :)
