The alluring athmosphere and the breathtaking graphics Tommy and Jauhis manage to deliver with this demo bring forward a promise that is almost too good to be true. I have been lucky to have the chance to observe the process from a very close range and it is great to see how it is developing into a numbingly pleasant experience of Megazeux gaming.

Graphics are a nice combination of animated 1x1 characters, detailed background graphics, somewhat asciish cutscenes and well-used palettes. The environment looks very good and it still works - even though we have seen it in Jauhis' previous games such as Call of Caethrath etc.

Sound effects are plenty and functional, adding a moody touch to the dungeons and mountains you journey through. The music used is just as fitting - ambient tracks that suck you into the beautiful scenery.

The short range of enemies seen in the demo present some nice ideas, such as the slimes leaving behind a stain of acid which still can burn the player or at the least give him a reminder to stay on his toes. My only complaint here is that sometimes they seem to be slightly mindless and slow. On the other hand, that is probably intentional in the beginning of a game.

The story seems interesting and original, even though it is more than obvious that it still might change as it is a demo. You are part of a crew escaping a falling starship and end up in a mysterious pit full of rotting corpses. Your biotech implants help you to cure some of your wounds and you start your adventure to escape the dungeon and find out your whereabouts.

All in all, in my opinion it is one of the most promising Megazeux projects right now and I hope we will see the full version soon. A must-play if you have not tried it out.
