Neat graphics! The music is good, too, but the "beep" when there's something blocking your way is rather annoying. Also, neat graphics yeah...but more often than not it's difficult to tell things apart. Good stuff though, I think the original idea was to make use of the pixel perfect engine and introduce the MZX community some delicious eyecandy.

This was the first game I played that used the special "super" modes in Megazeux. I love the tiny grahpics! For the first time i get to be an owl in a game! That's a bonus 2 points for making the player an owl!

This is a small parody of Pokemon, using a complex pixel-perfect engine in SMZX graphics. No doubt, this was a technical breakthrough in MZX back in the day.

Story's pretty light: You wake up, visit your grandpa the professor who blames furries (not those furries, just your typical RPG monsters) for his predicament, and decide to help him out by getting a shotgun to, yes, kill 'em all.

Gameplay's also pretty light: You walk around, interact with people and things by bumping into them, and fight monsters in tall grass areas. Combat consists of only two options: Attack and Run. The monsters don't retaliate so there's no point in running, and attacking basically flips a coin: You either kill the monster, or you don't and you have to find it again.

It does look pretty and the pixel-perfect engine is a marvel. The gameplay, on the other hand, isn't so stellar. It's hard to find things sometimes, especially the shotgun once you need to get it. Talking again to NPCs not only yields no new dialogue, but it's also a bad idea because they might repeat their dialogue and reset event flags. And as for the killing part, two words: Random encounter. There are 12 different kinds of monsters in the whole game spread across four areas with tall grass. Once you kill a monster, it won't show up again. Sadly, monsters become less frequent the more they're eliminated. It's possible that you'll be waiting a long time to find that last monster. And when you do, you better hope you don't miss.

And how does the whole thing end? With a cheapo ending: Your grandpa is apparently sent to jail for killing all the furries. Of course, he's not to blame... oh well, time to go home. It's not even a cutscene, it's just a message; afterwards, you can actually continue playing though of course there's no more point.

Overall, this really is similar to Pokemon. The graphics and setting are like Pokemon, and even the long grinding is like Pokemon. Still this is clearly more about the pixel-perfect engine showcase than the gameplay, and it's a very good showcase. It's just not fun to play.

And as for T-Bone, I dunno why he thinks the player is an owl. The owl featured in the title screen is just a monster you fight. Then again, it is kinda hard to make out what the player looks like.....
