I sorta remember Zeuxepic from back in the day, and I don't remember being impressed with it back then either... Episode 1 is a really short game.

It has some cool cutscenes, but the character sets are missing from this version. The plot is a direct ripoff of Star Wars, which is OK. Even if not original.

The game is just too bugged to give anything but one star though. It starts you off on a board with extremely low brightness, and your goal is just to move to the left.

You have to go through two boards of simple but unbalanced enemies to find the guy who gives you the beam sword, which is a lightsaber...except it's pretty easy to mess up the beam sword in such a way that its tiles remain onscreen until they're overwritten. Also it won't work if you're holding any movement key while using it. Also some of the enemies just stop moving when they're dead, no other indication...

There's also a custom text box system, but sometimes it doesn't clear properly.

I wanted to give this two stars, and would have if it didn't have so many bugs. Oh well!
