First, I must say that any attempt to make a simultaneous 2-player mode Megazeux game is bound to be a disaster. Sure, not every effort is terrible, but for the most part it does not turn out well. Could you imagine having two people crowded around a keyboard? Playing an action game with 2 people on one keyboard?! I can't. Megazeux does have joystick support nowadays, so maybe a good 2-player game will appear someday. Maybe!

This is probably one of the better 2-player Megazeux games. Which ain't saying much. It's interesting that it seems to be a co-op type of game, where the players user laser-armed ships on either end of the playing field to destroy enemies in the middle of the field.

Unfortunately it's very easy to kill the other player--lasers have a hitscan-type attack and if one player ends up parallel to the other, someone's gonna get lasered to death. Not only that, but the final level is virtually impossible since one hit from an explosion can empty more than 50% of the lifebar. Before that, though, even if you immediately kill the other player, the first six levels are ridiculously easy.

The game has an "expansion mode" that doesn't seem to have panned out, but there are only seven levels in this version.

Graphics are pretty hideous. There is an attempt at character editing, but the results still show very little effort to make the graphics work with the game. The playing field is a neon abomination. And that's coming from someone whose graphics have been described as "clown vomit."

No music, no sound.

I wouldn't recommend playing this, even with a second player. This hypothetical second player would almost certainly punch you in the face after you destroy their ship for the hundredth time. 1 star.
