Jonny Pest is a... Johnny Quest parody where you play as some guy named Max who's working for the Quests. You have to go around and solve missions using your car to navigate between locations.

The first part of the game is nonlinear, but you WILL need to solve everything, or you WILL get permanently stuck at some point or another in the second part of the game. Make sure that BEFORE you get on the space shuttle, you find all the items you need in Jonny's room, the kitchen, and the government building.

Second part of the game is short, though. Either you have all the items from the first part of the game, or you're missing at least one and are stranded in space forever.

Graphics, for the most part, look like a bad ZZT game... complete with bad coloring and objects that barely represent anything, some unrecognizable except for what they're labeled as being. There's no digital audio, but there are a few PC speaker songs. Not very good, but I will give the author credit for even trying to compose music using the PC speaker.

Hell, even the narrative is generic stuff, with some parodies of Jonny Quest characters that have names that are uncreative enough to have come from MAD Magazine. Dr. Sin instead of Dr. Zin, for example.

This isn't a very good game, but it would have gotten two stars if it weren't so badly flawed... or at least had SOME redeeming features. Being able to get stuck bad enough that you need to restart should have died with Infocom.
