This is a short but sweet horror adventure game where you must escape a mysterious house and return home while evading a werewolf. There's not a whole lot to say about it without spoiling anything, but it's a fun little game (15-30 minutes long) with decent sound design, pleasant minimalist art, and no game breaking bugs(!). There is some action gameplay that is not especially difficult, which is a good thing for this style of game.
Hints below, stop reading if you don't want them.
-----
• You need to go into the house first.
• You will need to write down or remember the numbers that appear over the fireplace.

The Shot is a short experience, coming in at less than 30 minutes of play time. That being said, it does a nice job of creating a creepy atmosphere. It is a tall order to attempt horror in Megazeux, and this game does a pretty good job of creating tension with its sound design and pacing. That being said, one minor annoyance with the sound design was the use of a particularly loud sound effect which was pretty unpleasant with headphones on. Fortunately, the sound effect only appeared twice in the game that I can remember, and the rest of the sound in the game is good enough to make up for it. There were a couple of minor puzzle elements; none were particularly obtuse in the way that Megazeux puzzles tend to be sometimes. The implementation of the one "weapon" that appears in the game is simple and forgiving, appropriate for a game that leans into interactive fiction. My only other criticism of the game is that a rather large building in the opening area only has a few areas to explore, and about half the areas are empty halls, leaving me feeling as though I was missing out on something larger. Overall though, definitely worth the play.
