Im making a journal for all my games -none which have come out yet : )-
im on a shool computer so i cant post any pics but this will be mainly on swat strike at the moment. ill post them later.

Finaly, i have stuck to a game - Swat Strike (I think this name might be taken, i saw a swat strike engine on zeuxworld i cant remember who it was by though). The demo for Swat strike is not ready- it only has one level and the password and help features dont work.
The game is basically a real time stratergy game where you controll swat agents im preatty proud of my unit movement and selection engine even though you guys have made way more advanced stuff. It overall isn't polished up that well but, i do like the very simple fuzz engine i created.
I've gotten some screen shots but the level used is not a real one. My crappy server wont allow remote linking so youll have to use this link.

Ooh, it looks like it really has potential! Although from what I saw, the level looked kind of boring, maybe some cover here and there inside the rooms would more realistic and interesting? Some kind of engine to cover up the rooms you haven't been/aren't in would, I imagine, increase the tension a lot as well.

If you're using overlay, use a sprite with a temporary space buffer.. but that might be better to wait for the vlayer.

Yeah, looks neato. But yes, add some furniture in the rooms, or obstacles, or something. You've got plenty of available character set space in there ^^

I've created the password system, i cant say how it works because it defeats the purpose of making a password system in the first place. I haven't done much in the last week ill try do do more later.

I cant block out the rooms with overlay blocks because the markers that show where the swat guys are moving to are also overlay. Got any ideas how to fix it without making robots that always print those blocks.

You could note the coordinates of the black blocks, and prevent the swat guys from moving to those until they are gone...

well if the you're team members move around into the dark rooms (assuming they are you're friends make their rooms light up aswell. Since they'd have radio contact with you you'd know what was in their room aswell. Or you could use a sprites to show where the dudes are...

Put a large mzm of blackness on the vlayer and refer to that with a sprite!

Ok i havent done any more on swat strike in a long time but it will be ready soon. Anyway i am posting here to anounce the release of a much bigger project that probably wont be finished but is worth trying anyway.
Its a lines engine that edits the chars every cycle so lines are drawn that can span over several chars. but unfortunately it cant display text and you cant see any of the menus because all the chars are being used for the lines. This also stops the playing field from being bigger than 32x8 and the lines cant be different colors this also weakens how practical this engine is.
Ill release a more in depth explanation when or if i finish it. :cry:

Ive done the hard stuff in the engine im just polishing it up it will be ready a soon as im done but that wont be for a while. But when ive uploaded it im going to make it into a wireframe 3d game or engine depending on how lazy im am.
