Is this a problem with the Mac osx version of mzx or just my cousin's laptop?

<+AFK> dormando's apathy is palpable.
* AFK palpates
<dormando> stop that
<Malwyn> undressing with revvy a little over a metre away. new definition of awkward.

<Malwyn> Yes, yes. Don't worry I'd rather masturbate with broken glass than ask you for help again. :(

I haven't talked to Exo about this, so don't take it to be a solution, but since 2.81 MZX has a new "modular" audio architecture. Adding support for another module playback library would be straightforward, assuming it has at least the features of Modplug. If somebody with a Mac and a bit of UNIX experience could confirm that a library like 'mikmod' worked better, we might be able to add compile-time support for it. I Am Not Exophase though, so I can't confirm he'd agree to this.
As for MZX bugs, the OS X version of MZX is not well tested. Please talk to either me or Exo for debugging tips.

<@Tixus> Anyway, I set the year to 1988 for some reason.
<@Tixus> And set the microwave to run for a minute and 28 seconds.
<@Tixus> But it failed to send me back in time, and I was disappointed.
<Insidious> Tixus accidentally microwaved the 80s
<Insidious> that is my takeaway from this

And what exact formats does it support?

If we could get a bit more information about why modplug isn't working, we could probably think about what to do.

Because whenever I try loading worlds in mzx 2.81 it just crashes
and it gets really annoying.

I'll send my changes to Exo and I'm sure they'll be in 2.81d.

all it said was:

[Beth-Rutters-Computer:~] bethrutt% /Users/bethrutt/Desktop/mzx281cosx/mzx281c; exit dyld: /Users/bethrutt/Desktop/mzx281cosx/mzx281c can't open library: /Users/ajs/dev/lib/libSDL-1.2.0.dylib (No such file or directory, errno = 2) Trace/BPT trap logout [Process completed]
Anyone know how to fix this?

If I remember correctly, that was listed as a known issue somewhere. Try searching for "/Users/ajs/dev/lib/libSDL-1.2.0.dylib" on the forums.

I can't debug MZX properly on OS X because it has an extremely badly broken linker, the SDL workaround isn't documented and I don't own a Mac. Oh yeah, and I do it all over SSH so I've never even seen it start.

OK. Thanks for answering my question. I'll tell my cousin that tomorrow.
