Added a whale/leviathan/underwater beast/whatever as well as its brain. It has a good ladder i'm quite proud of. 70% done the world, about same for engines, story is about 25% and no music yet either. Really feeling like im gonna finish it at some point. i still have ideas. Graveyard is next I think. i was possibly gonna reuse malardy graveyard but i decided to place it in the ZZT zone.

Goin real smooth thank you! Broke 200 boards today. With a few guest boards, ideas already in the queue, and inspiration this shouldn't take much longer! Making the music, story, dialog, will not take all that long. Some of it's already in there.

You've definitely worked a lot faster than most do. My game is also about 210 boards, but after 7 years - not freakin' half a year!

Hahaha thanks for noticing! Yea, i've got my priorities straight, know exactly what I want to do and don't waste anytime. I try to make every keystroke count. Having said that Good news for IRL is that im getting a bit healthier after long covid so im working in person more. Progress on the game might stall out for a bit, but I got tons of ideas so who knows maybe i'll finish it in a burst!

Felt good so just kept going. up to 224 now! its really comiing along. Even added in an ending. There's no way to get ot it yet but thereis a starting and endiing now!

That's good to hear. I know that long covid can be a rough one. A former coworker of mine - healthy, sporty guy in his early 30s, coudln't work full time anymore. Now, several years later, I talked to him and he said he's almost back to full time. But only almost. He'd get dizzy spells, tiredness and migraines if he worked too long or looked too much at computer screens. Hope you're getting back to 100%!

Yup, exact same situation with me, although I'm happy to say not any migraines or headaches. Also started teaching some IRL music lessons again so expect progress to stall out for a bit while my health catches up.

Honestly, I think longer breaks from a game project might be beneficial. Every time I'd been away from mine for weeks or months, I'd come back with fresh ideas in mind.

Most of the boards are pretty much done. I have a few more guest boards, gonna need a few more hallways/approachs so i'd say the overall board count is pretty much done. spent an hour or two today linking together tons and TONS of areas. so much more is opened up. adding a few characters and story here and there as well

About 210 boards are all linked up. The last few need to be slotted in somewhere, but it's getting close. Gonna move onto the story and soundtrack pretty soon, then its done!

Added and coded the monster taming/monster hunting FINALLY! I was worried on this one, but it turned out to only take an hour and fifteen. And the code can be generally reused for other monsters. Only 3 tho in total tho.

Had an hour or 2 today to link up more areas and add some polish. Story is about 40% or more there? First act is pretty much done and some of the endings are decided. got about 8 boards to spare for a few more guest boards or areas i need to link.

in terms of connecting theres 27 boards that are isolated, but have some connections between them so thats not too bad. most of the 220 boards that link are all generally working and mostly done.

Only 14 boards aren't connected to the main group now. Also polishing up various boards by playing from the start. It's going pretty smoothly! I don't think it will be too much longer now.

-First 5 minutes are pretty much Alpha/Beta level.
-Probably gonna be similar length to my other games, maybe a bit longer.
-The bulk of the game is connected with paths, loop arounds, advancement, convos, gameplay etc. gonna add more incidental convos, gags, lines of dialog, finish some engines etc. a decent amount to do here but probably over half done.
-1st act of story is done, gonna start working more on the rising action
-stopping to play Cybil!!!!

Sounds like you're making great progress, even if those "last few things" tend to drag out quite a bit :)

Quite fortunate that working in MegaZeux is so easy that it's fun. Podcasts or music + MegaZeux editing is almost therapeutic.

Yea it turns out I've been listening to anal bum that came out right as i started dev on the game. That's gonna be the unofficial or possible official soundtrack.

Game-wise, spent some more time play testing. the first 50% of the entire game is connected and playable. Definitely needs a bit of polish, but not too much. just 5 or 10 minutes on each board hiding Alpha/Beta robots, more dialog, more char edits etc.

Last real tough tasks are figuring out how to get to the ending and that's about it!
