Yeah, I've looked through at least five local used game stores and have never seen a copy of Final Fantasy IX.

Its pretty common around online stores though.

As far as off-the-wall shmups go, it's not quite as good as the Cotton games, but it's still great, and the cutscenes are pretty good quality (they don't suffer from Sega CD graininess like, say, Time Gal.)

<lolilover> I notice alot of Japanese fiction involving kemono-mimi characters always has the main character saving an innocent animal and then the animal returns as a girl to reward him for his kindness.

Recently grabbed myself a copy of Yakuza (Ryu ga Gotoku for those of you that prefer Japanese titles) for the PS2, so I've been pushing through that...

I've also got The Punisher for PC, Beyond Good & Evil, and Meteos that I've been playing lately.

Pokemon Diamond, pretty much

Everyone says that Pokemon was ruined around Gold or something, but I disagree; the whole holding system and day/night cycles are really nice additions.

I'm playing through Wild Arms 2 again. I wonder how I didn't realize how poorly this was translated before? I really want to play the newer ones, but I don't really have the money to do so =/

Yeah, I liked the day/night cycle too, I also liked the little graphic improvments. I really didn't like any pokemon games past silver and gold though, I think adding all the extra worlds and stuff was kinda stupid.

There is a massive difference between "dating sim" and "visual novel". Fate/stay night happens to fall under the latter category, as would others like Narcissu.

yeah, dating sim refers to games like True Love and Dokyusei/Nanpa, ones that actually do simulate dating =p

MORNING: work out.
AFTERNOON: study.
NIGHTTIME: bang chick.

So much like real dating, you wouldn't believe.

yeah, but so many choices made the game quite difficult to play well
you needed to do so much saving, but you only had a few save slots (compared to Fate/stay Night which has no fewer than 300 save slots.

I never said the game wasn't difficult, I was just poking fun at the "realism" of its "dating simulation."

I'm about to play Baldur's Gate 2. I don't know how long it'll last though. I've just finished the tutorial part. Not only is it difficult to control, but it's boring as holy hell.

Quake 1, Castlevania 4, Castlevania 5.. Those are really the only games I actually play anymore. I get tired of pretty much anything else really fast. I did play Final Fantasy 6 again recently, however.
