I have a folder on my dropbox with some of my favorite mods from the Megazeux Scene, and a bunch from the Amiga as well.
I usually open this folder up at least once a week or so (at work :() and jam for a little bit to some of those great nostalgic songs.

Anyways! I was thinking to myself what songs I would say are the most 'megazeuxy', that I associate most with that time and which I have the fondest memories of. There are plenty of mods which were created by talented members of this community for their games and plenty which were... appropriated for use. So my question to all you guys is, what would you say are the top 5 .Mods (or .GDM :), or whatever) that really take you back to the good old days of Megazeux?

I wouldn't say there are any specific criteria but probably songs which most people here would recognize, which were used in well known games, or which were heard all the time.

My Top Five would probably be:

Crystal Hammer (Many megazeux games)
Satellite (From the Draconic Creations Showcase)
Patega (Most megazeux games)
Options (Snarfoogle - Made by Lipid I think)
Nonsense 1 (ns1) (From Nonsense 2!)

And honorary mention to CV_Boss which is still the best boss music of all time

Also, just recently learned that you can play MZX games through browser. What an age we live in! Now to play all the BKZX games in a single sitting

My favorite from that era of MegaZeux is probably Mercury Rain. I’ve forgotten the game or games I’ve heard it in though. Maybe you’d remember? I’ve found the song on YouTube.

A top five list would take me a little longer to come up with but I’ll think on it.
Currently working on Servo for MegaZeux, I hope to complete it by the middle of 2015? Who knows...

I was actually considering putting O-78489 in there! definitely in the top 15 or so.

Mercrain is also top 15, great .mod. I can't remember what game it was from but I have think it might have been a DoZ game? :)

The original Kikan used it...

Also for me, the most MegaZeuxy mods (aside from CV_MAGIC):

basketcase.mod - ironically enough I've got The Game Awards in another tab and Green Day is currently playing.
12war.mod
click.s3m

And there's another song whose name I forget, but was used in a lot of MZX titles... it's got a whistly flute and then a slap bass...

The song from Freakish Town.

I still love the Caverns music. Did Alexis Janson do any other music after MZX?

Sure, MP3s are good. But I can agree with the fact that old music formats like MOD,GDM,S3M,etc, provide some nostalgic tunes. Some of my favorites include Fairdes.mod, Fla.mod, or Beyond.mod. (Whether it be that technoish sounding "Beyond the Beyond" or the calm sounding Beyond 2000.)

Ice Planet.

You already nailed 3D.MOD, CRYSTAL.MOD and SATELL.GDM s3m. If you want to know what else I think belongs, I put a collection together.

I would be interested in grabbing the MZX archive, hashing all of the module music files and spitting out a popularity graph.
Need a dispenser here.

Ooh I hadn't seen this! A lot of the mods in my favorites folder overlap with these but there are some I haven't heard in ages that tickled my funny bone.

ALVA.mod
BUBBLE.mod
CLICK.s3m
LOWALTTD.mod
ROFCHAOS.s3m
YEBEESEE.MOD

The last two in particular were some of my favorites back when I was MZXing regularly
