<Mooseka> YES LANCER <b>TALK DIRTY TO ME</b>
<GMCBay> When creating a game, the first thing I do is design the box cover for the special edition collectors DVD. The second thing I do is begin thinking about what will be in the sequel.
<Koji> SOYLENT MILK IS COWS!! D:
<Jotz> you guys have such a mindless disdain for a delicious mint julep! that you're making it not work by thinking that it won't.
<Jotz> Sorry, but I don't think this project is going to succeed like a delicious mint julep! did.
<xicloid> Isn't there anything like "return null"in C?

I mean it might be usefull in a cut scene or something, but then it wouldn't need to be created in real time like it is here, and would probably look better and run faster... scratch that, it would DEFINETELY be faster and look better.
However uselessness aside, it's still kinda niffty, and if logicow enjoys doing it I can't find a real reason to berate him or impede on his choice of creative expression.
He can crank out all these he wants but the truth is that yeah it is getting kinda old, and he only raises the bar higher for himself each time, I mean he posted one engine that was one of his less than steller achievements and everyone beat down on him practically.
For his own good, I hope that he find himself content making simpler applicable engines, or even a game. But until then, keep doing what you're doing logicow.

anyway, www.box43.net/~pyro1588/bitmap.bmp
am i supposed to have something on the board?
also, it really doesn't matter if logi makes graphical demos. it's up to him, not anyone else, what he wants to make. and seriously, i like pixel-perfect movement in an mzx game. as far as how this stuff could be used in a real game, some of it can. i'd much rather see a cans game that has a raycaster maze instead of a standard mzx 3d maze. the windowpane effect (if it could be sped up) could be used in a cool cutscene where something bright flies by the window. the bubble thing could be used as a minigame.
bottom line: there are uses for these, but logi just hasn't exploited them yet.
<pyro1588> "welcome to australia, can i help you find what you're looking for?"
<Tox> pyro1588, I'm giving you the most reproachful of glares right now.

<@Tixus> Anyway, I set the year to 1988 for some reason.
<@Tixus> And set the microwave to run for a minute and 28 seconds.
<@Tixus> But it failed to send me back in time, and I was disappointed.
<Insidious> Tixus accidentally microwaved the 80s
<Insidious> that is my takeaway from this

your board has to be retardedly big
I suppose I should have mentionned that

thats awesome. "retardedly big" is the coolest phrase I've heard today. and I like the demos. I agree with koji that he is raising the bar for himself, but is that a bad thing? thats just motivation to make something even better that very well may be useful for something at some point. its just as useless to say what he makes are useless because there have already been examples of how these things could be used, its just that they haven't. hell, if I was working on this rather than doing random other things, I'd probably just do engines and code demonstrations because I like to do little things that are neat and could be used, just not by me. its easier and more fun for me to do code bits that someone else can forge into something playable than it is for me to try to peice something together myself. I like to be the one to introduce something new that can be copied in spirit and used for all sorts of interesting things. sort of like how the theory of p2p software was taken from its less functional and less complete originator: napster. I would be much more proud of that than if I were to make a mildly sucessful game with some interesting points to it.
