Why would you DL games in ISO-MP3 format anyway?

That went out with streaming Real Audio. BIN-CUE is the most reliable and steady CD image container for console games, period.

Because most of them don't come out in BIN format and everyone's too lazy to convert it to BIN format.

Nonsense. The vast majority of games have been ripped in at least a non-lossy format (if not bin-cue). People just need to look harder.

Some sites insist on distributing in ISO+MP3 format because they take up less space, according to them.

Actually they do take up more space and the folder they're in is kinda ugly to work with.

With TG16 games though I think you can only have it in that format. Not completely sure though.

No. In fact, anything but BIN-CUE or ISO-FLAC wrecks the image in PC Engine games. You can use other formats and still have the games playable, but not accurate.

Also, ISO-{MP3/OGG/MPC} is used to save bandwidth and not space. Then again, why get games direct from websites anyway. =P

I'm not really playing anything but I'm watching my roommate's girlfriend go through Zelda 2, and maybe taking the controls for a minute here and there.

Um, I personally use ISO+MP3 because that's the only format I can find on ROM sites (as I've yet to bother with BitTorrent,) and really who cares about game-CD-audio loss? Seriously, they're usually 160Kbps+ anyway.

(Plus, depending on the region converter you use, having the audio tracks separate is the difference between having or not having the audio tracks when playing on real hardware.)

Lately all my gaming attention has been focused on pokemon ruby. Im set determined to complete everything that there is to complete on this game, even if it requires me to buy two GBAs just to do all the link transfer evolutions of pokemons (im currently using a NDS).

Spectere: Im also hyped about Diamond/Pearl!!!

Gawd Im such a pokemon freak...

They started getting a lot better after Gold and Silver. I kinda just stuck with the GB/GBC ones for a long while and now I'm sorry that I did. I picked up Sapphire and FireRed recently and...dang. They're good.

YES! :(

That reminds me, I should get a GBA link cable. I have an NDS and a GBA:SP so that plus the other editions would equal awesomeness.

Unfortunately, I lost the ability to trade between my old GB/GBC games when I got rid of my classic GBA, but eh, what can you do. I should be able to pick up another GBC dirt cheap anyway if I really wanted to.

Edit: And speaking of Pokémon, I just have to say that Pokémon Pinball looks really ridiculous in an SP.

Ikaruga would be a lot more fun on the Dreamcast if the D-pad weren't so bad. :( There's just something very icky about it, almost as if it were a last-minute addition to the controller. Oh well.

<Nadir> i would have made mzx games if it was capable of running on more than 20 computers worldwide in 1998

That comment isn't going to bring Exophase back. In fact it might scare him >_>

Its shouldn't be difficult to downgrade your PSP and then upgrade it to a custom firmware. Well then again, my brother was the one who did it; I haven't tried it myself.

I've pinned the topic - if we have a "What are you listening to?" thread, then why can't we have a "What are you playing?" thread as well?

I recently started playing through Jade Empire, and I'm up to Tien's Landing right now.
