As of 2.92c, MegaZeux has experimental slot-based saving and loading capabilities. This is done via a config file setting and allows basic slot-based saving and loading capabilities via menu.

Possible improvements would include the auto-quicksave option +stepping mentioned above, as well as key shortcuts that would load/save specific slots.

Since the vast majority of anything useful here was already implemented by Spectere for 2.92c, this might as well be marked approved. As noted in Discord, because the original context of wanting save slot stepping and autosaves was implementing an emulator-like rewind, and also since MZX games typically vary in how often they need saves, I think it's safe to turn down those specific portions of the request. I dunno why MZX keeps getting mistaken for an emulator :(

That pretty much leaves different key shortcuts. I can't think of anything good here but it should be worth noting Spectere's save slots interface lets you jump to a particular slot by pressing 1-9 and 0 (for 10) and remembers the last slot that was saved to/loaded from. Any thoughts?

Issue fixed in: 2.92c

We have looked at implementing hotkeys for saving/loading specific slots without having to bring up the save menu and determined that we couldn't find key combos that weren't cumbersome to use, so we won't implement that. As such, marking as resolved and, with a basic save slot functionality in place, implemented.
