Is there an easy way to just download all the games from the website at once? It'd be nice if there was just a big zip of everything because I want to put them all on my Pandora and downloading everything one at a time is a bit of a hassle. Can anyone help me with this?

Cheers

I don’t see an easy way to do this. Even if you could download all the zips you’d still need to unzip them. Unzipping all of them at once is not advisable as many games have the same name for different palettes and character sets and sounds. Overwriting then would corrupt the games so it’s best to unzip each game into its own folder.

The best you could hope for is if someone shared their personal collection with you. I don’t have all of the MegaZeux games available for download but I do have several hundered that I consider worth having. There are many, many more that are just frankly not worth your time.

If you want to start your own collection look for the ones that have the highest rating. Go through the Gold Collection for starters. That will provide many hours of good gameplay and shouldn’t really take that long to download and unzip if you just get determined to do it. Good luck and happy gaming!
Currently working on Servo for MegaZeux, I hope to complete it by the middle of 2015? Who knows...

There was supposed to be a torrent of the Gold Collection available at some point but I don't know if that ever happened or not. I'd recommend sticking to the Gold Collection archive tag and the "Best-Rated Games" section to begin with, though.

Somewhat related, I didn't realize the Pandora port was still getting some use. You'll have to build the latest version of MegaZeux yourself if you want to play some of the newer games, though there aren't many that require 2.90+ yet. I'll put getting a working Pandora cross toolchain back on my list of priorities. Worst case, I think Lancer-X offered to give me his Pandora...

Wish this page could have credited all of the authors of Pandora's Gate instead of just one of them though... :)

I managed to spider the site and download everything, unzipping them shouldn't be a problem as they can just be batch unzipped into separate folders from the archive name easily enough without any conflicts. It's true there's a lot of less than great MZX games but much like with ROM sets it's interesting to me to just pick something at random especially since I played a large amount of the good MZX games back in the day. I might make a .torrent if there's any demand for it and I have the time to make the folder names a little more obvious as to what they contain. I think I'm gonna grab all the ZZT games from Z2 next.

If you're looking for ZZT games, Museum of ZZT might be a better bet than Z2. It's actively curated and I think has every game Z2 has, plus several more recent games and older games that have been recovered from AOL/Wayback archives.
