I'm actually gonna keep it a surprise, but i'll say this, its a super obscure modern Japanese IDM producer i'd never heard of.
240 boards are all connected. Most are halfway or more done. Quite a few like 50-100 are completely done. about 10 arent started yet but thats fine.
Today I figured out the pacing, ending locations, and some of the rising action. Playing through the game from the start and making a solid list of what to work on to take it over the finish line!
It's really happening

Chippin' away at it over the last few days. Definitely making decent progress. Might be closer than I thought.

All 246 boards are essentially connected! got 1 or 2 more collabs and need a few open for certain passages or cutscenes but the gameworld is essentially crafted!
Content wise about half the boards, 150, are done. i'd say 10-20 need work like coding engines or making the dialog/cutscenes. other than that, the remaining 140 are either alpha or beta, need just 1 or 2 things, more population, or just cover up some engines still out in the open.
Before the end of 2024 doesn't seem outta the question! if not then, shortly after.
OMG plz give me tips on Cybil! wtf do game mechanics do lol. i made it to the first town but i need to explore more. the graphics and vibe are great!

I can see there's a bunch of stuff to work on. But you're making good progress.

There's an in game manual
But a very general couple hints would be:
1) There's a finite amount of enemies and items, so be careful about wasting items. Save good items for strong enemies. Maybe save your money until you know what items you need.
2) Most things in combat are based on 1-100% dice rolls. The enemy has a % chance to take its turn and hit you, which goes up each turn the enemy does not attack. Your own weapons just
have an accuracy score, also out of 100.
3) Equip silver and alabaster pendants: They have a chance to nullify received damage. You can figure out the effects of more advanced pendants later on. Tip: Save ankh pendants for powerful enemies and boss fights!
4) Use throwable weapons to make up for the fact that melee weapons have bad accuracy.
5) You can only use the "sleep at inn" function in towns after having cleared a dungeon. It recovers your health and skills, but doesn't save. You need to do that manually at nearby save stations.
Activate station with a save disk, then press F3 to bring up the save menu.
6) Playing on the easiest mode gives you a bunch of save disks and extra money to get started on. Maybe try that. Then you are allowed to do more mistakes early on while you figure things out

Ooooh 5) is super useful. That was throwing me for a loop. Ranged seemed good so I'll focus on that!
As for my game, theres only about 6 or 7 boards that need engines/coding. Almost all the rest or done, or Alpha/Beta state. Gonna focus on the endings and stories for the next little bit!

I still have a hard time imagining how your game plays, with all those engines and all that stuff going on. It's going to be exciting to finally see it in action! I don't think I've even seen a screenshot.
