Meanwhile, on the SLĈS front: boy is it tempting to use frenchip.xm in the "Inside Kazuma 'Virus' Takahashi" gameplay section. i should finish that ever so i can go ahead and make the Phoenjamin Wrightmin section. SHould I TRULY actually make a whole dang Phoenix Wright simulator for that part, or should Wrightmin's problem be something not legal related

I just noticed in the last screenshot, u did a color thing in the text, it's usually like ~ename~f: text but you were like ~ename: t~fext

But seriously maybe a little more shading on the areas, it's just like solids and chars 177s and the colors are really nice but they need more blendeding

It is a danger and while it happened here because Guy worked on two different projects in the same directory, it can happen with just one project per directory- my projects often naturally expand out to many MZX files. What's more, MZX still has that wonderful bug where it can 'forget' the filename of the MZX you're currently working on, so you have to pick it from the list or retype it. Woe betide you if you mistype or pick the wrong thing by mistake.

What can you do about it? Don't bother specifying a custom backup filename in the per-MZX .cnf- it doesn't work. You can set your # of backup .MZXs to a really high value, specify for them to go in a subfolder (backup_name = bk/backup) so they don't annoy you and if you lose something have a look and see if it's among your 1000 backup files.. but beyond that, it's really best to have your own careful backup practices.

I don't know how many times I've found myself accidentally working on backup1.mzx instead of [game].mzx, that's pretty good advice

save FOOBAR.mzx
then save FOOBARb.mzx
then save FOOBAR.mzx again

usually works and is decent protection against my own stupidity.

I've started doing the thing Lancer suggested. The downside is that you have to create the backup directory manually at the moment, but that's not a huge deal really

I like the roof and fountain a lot, and the general style... wouldn't mind more detail on the ground though, and the red of the bricks doesn't mesh well with the other colors (desaturate it a little).

i dunno, he's an important figure in mzxology and has a distinctive char and i needed something to put on top of that fountain

OH, and the doll is because i was coming up with a bunch of different items to test the inventory system and i thought it would be funny if kuddy was an item.

You ever tried playing Bernard the Bard with PC speaker sounds only? Like Talon's Tale, it has its very own set of PC speaker sounds.

I doubt anyone's ever taken the time to listen to them though, because why would you when you can listen to CTGOBLIN.GDM and NOPE.SAM instead?
