I think these two in modern times are the same thing but only report half of what the user may be looking for: is the tile walkable or not. It makes error checking maps for mistakes in tile type. Having them separate is still useful to do this. Possibly having the ability to toggle each on and off independently would be a compromise, since currently they can not be overlayed to be simultaneously viewed.

Just because these are interchangeable for you does not make them interchangeable.

If these shortcuts ever change it will be to make them customizable, but the default behavior will stay for the foreseeable future.
