Spitting Tigers are MegaZeux built-in enemies that typically resemble a cat. They move every other cycle—either randomly or in the direction of the player, depending on their Intelligence parameter—and optionally have a chance of firing Bullets, Seekers, or Shooting Fire as determined by their Firing rate.
Version differences
MegaZeux 1.00
Spitting Tigers acted on every cycle prior to 2.00 instead of on every other cycle.
MegaZeux 2.80 until 2.94
MegaZeux 2.80 broke the Spitting Tiger logic by changing the random direction range from 0-3 to 0-7. The invalid directions 4-7 cause the tiger to idle in place and, if Enemies' bullets hurt other enemies is enabled, self-destruct when they attempt to shoot a Bullet.
From 2.80 until 2.93d, tigers would also fail to play the fire sound effect when firing Shooting Fire.
ZZT connection
Spitting Tigers are based on the Tiger enemy from ZZT.
