Well I've finally finished the SM4MZX DEMO and I am rounding up people to BETA test it. This is so that I can make any changes to it before making the full-version.

I'll put up a link for it soon and some screenshots. You won't be disappointed.

Eh, I guess I will. It wouldn't hurt. You're lucky, though, you've actually finished a demo ;).

On another note, the game concept sounds kind of bland. Nobody really wants another Super Mario Brothers game, much less for MZX. Now whether or not the game plays well, only the demo can tell. But come up with a more original idea for your next game.

Kurushimi, I was so close to posting the most insulting comment here. Now I'm feeling what can only be described as "explody" not being able to post what I want. I guess I'm no Gofer-chan or Mooseka.

Anyway, T-Bone6: This is a terrible idea on your part, and I have a feeling the graphics wont amaze me. Don't give us these hollow boasts until you have some obvious evidence to back them up. And don't post in New Game Announcements unless you have a download for us.

Good Lord, asgromo, you haven't even seen any of the game yet. If everybody shot everything down as a "terrible idea" without knowing anything about it, I get the feeling we wouldn't have quite as many MZX games as we do. Do you want to see games released or don't you?

And T-bone, looking forward to it. Although you might wanna watch it with the graphics hyping, yes, you're setting rather high expectations for yourself ^^

I had tried to upload the game Today, but the computer I am using here at work locked-up as I was trying to send it. I'll send it either this week or next.

Oh, and can someone tell me how to display an image on digiboard because it says you have to acquire it from a URL instead of a harddrive path or address.

DOSNERD90, do you have any saved screenshots of your Sonic game for MZX? If so please post it so I can see how good the smzx mode really is - THAT IS "IF" YOUR GAME WAS GOOD!

Oh, and I know the feeling of losing a project that you've worked so damn hard on and then to lose it. It happened with a very large RPG game I made backwhen...Anyways, if you got the screenshots of that lost game can you post them?

I've seen screenshots for the games he's working on and the graphics are actually quite good...

Haven't gotten the demo beta yet though.

It seems like the ZIP file for the DEMO is corrupt, so here's the newest screenshot.
The zip file is what locked-up the computer so I'll make a new one as soon as possible. Its tough working and trying to release games - well, demos too or should I say demos only so far.

I think I should add that this game is not in smzx mode. So don't expect NES quality; however the chars are exactly the same as the NES SMB pattern tables (off by 1 row of pixels), plus some new stuff I did.

There's over 20 downloads within the span of 4 hours, for the one screenshot! I guess I must post this game ASP!

Edit: Okay, nevermind. I saw a couple that Exo sent me and it does look rather nice. You're obviously quite good at ripping/dithering sprites, but work on the graphics arranging a bit - try to balance out the colors a little bit more, they're a bit clashing. I'm sure somebody of your graphical caliber can manage that, though.

You know I thought people were going to think it was hoax because of the fact that the turtle has two colors. It is strange how the NES sprites fit so nicely in chars. That's why I have decided to make this game. Anyways, I've vamped up the game's color palette and modified some enemy thinking paths. You can now ride on any Super Mario 2 enemies! Because I am now working 9 to 11 hours a day, I am having trouble time management issues... but don't run away! The game will be posted before next Friday. I'm targeting next Monday or Tuesday for the release date.

And just so that you know, this DEMO will only contain 1 stage. This is so that I can get YOU to test the game's engine for any BUGS, problems or issues with it.
